Hi, thanks for viewing! To start, this grouping is very near and dear to me but I feel that now is the time that I must part with this. Unfortunately the health and well being of my family is more important at this time than material things and we will forever cherished the memories far beyond personal effects. This group has been in my grandparents garage since being brought back from the war by him and there it sat untouched and undisturbed until now. Due to my minimal experience with United States military I have consulted various people, posted to multiple forums and pages to better understand this grouping. Yes this is the same helmet that was posted on War Relics forum and various other posting pages. From my understanding the helmet is an Early M-1 Fixed Bale with light straps & Front Seam, with a Hawley First Pattern General Fiber Liner and original chinstrap. The Hawley liner is in fantastic condition as you can see from the photos as well as the shell. The owners name is stenciled on the outside of the helmet as well as on the outside of the liner. The chinstrap is in great condition and is original to the helmet. I know these can be difficult to find especially on original helmets so if you want more pics of it or anything else please me know! The helmet is 100% original in every way and if you have any questions, concerns or thoughts, please dont hesitate to ask! Further I will not sell this helmet/grouping so that it may be broken up or picked apart for pieces to make a quick buck. For sale to collectors Only. Helmet Heat Stamp/Batch Number: 63D. Judging by the M1 Heat stamp chart it looks like this helmet was produced in the early parts of 1941? This would also explain the various other themed items in the grouping. Those ships included USS Bushnell, Neosho, Essex, Mississippi, Sperry, and Aldebaran. Most I found on Ancestry through my minimal uncover expertise. USS District Activities, 14. Naval District Section Base, Bishops Point, Oahu T. Muster Roll of the Crew. Naval District Section Base Bishops Point Oahu, T. For the quarter ending March 31. This item and all my items come from a smoke free home free of hazardous chemicals, perfumes, and other unpleasant odors. It is my belief that the condition of an item is subjective, so I encourage you to look over each photo for your own condition assessment and when needed inquire about additional photos of information regarding any of my items. Lease feel free to contact me regarding any photo questions, concerns, or description information/errors. So please let me know how I can help! Try my best to accurately research/describe each item to the best of my ability, but occasionally mistakes are made. I know only 12 pictures can not not show everything so please let me know if you would like more!! Thanks for viewing and making it down this far! PEARL HARBOR World War II Group BERNARD J. AINSWORTH USS Enterprise US NAVY WW2

PEARL HARBOR World War II Group BERNARD J. AINSWORTH USS Enterprise US NAVY WW2

PEARL HARBOR World War II Group BERNARD J. AINSWORTH USS Enterprise Prichett WW2. A framed collection of World War II Awards, Medals, Dog Tags, and Sterling Silver Sweetheart Bracelet, all from Bernard J. Ainsworth, #382-16-80, Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class, who served from 1940 to 1946. We are pleased to present this framed World War II grouping for your consideration. It comes to us from the estate of Bernard J. Ainsworth , #382-16-80, who was a Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class. He served from 1940 to 1946 and saw service aboard the esteemed U. Enterprise (CV-6) as well as the U. Prichett (DD-561) and U. The grouping includes six (6) Medals with Ribbons (none named), two (2) Dog Tags, a 1991 U. Mint Pearl Harbor Award Medal, a personalized Sterling Silver Sweetheart Bracelet, a Department of the Navy / United States of America Seal, and Mr. Ainsworth’s Naval Bars with assorted attached stars. The entire grouping is enclosed in a nice wooden frame and protected behind glass or plexiglass. One large engraved plaque at the bottom gives Mr. Ainsworth’s service information, while three smaller plaques towards the top give additional information (we note a couple of mistakes, Prichett is spelled wrong, and the Carroll name has been shortened, perhaps to fit the available space). The frame measures 18-1/2 inches high, 14-1/2 inches wide, and is 1-3/4 inches deep. It weighs 4-3/4 pounds. The display is attached to the frame with six (6) Phillips head screws (one of which is missing). The glass or plexiglass is held in the frame with silicone or a similar material, but we found a loose piece when we opened the frame up. We also see some of the material coming loose from one corner. A sufficient amount remains to keep the cover securely in place, but we wanted to mention it. The wood frame itself is in excellent shape, clean, and showing little wear. The velvet covered display area has a bit of dust, but is in great shape. The Medals, Bars, and other period items show age appropriate wear and soil, but all look quite good (see close up pictures to the right of the big picture, above). We rate the overall condition of this item as very good to excellent (see pictures). This is an impressive grouping from one of the most significant military periods in the history of the United States (and the world for that matter). It would make a wonderful addition to any military collection! Looking for more great Antiques? We are located HERE.
