Nice early US M1 Helmet with Inland liner set. Helmet shell is a McCord lot #219C that estimated production of July/Aug’42. Shell features Stainless Steel Rim, Front Seam & Fixed Loops. Chinstrap hardware has early Brass Raised Bar Buckle and Milled J-Hook on the short strap. All original corking and it appears to have had a band of paint on the bottom to the rim that has been painted over. Possible NAVY use or to cover the rim as paint tended to wear off easily. Liner is manufactured by INLAND. Features are cotton webbing, Unpainted Steel Washers, Sweatband with green hardware, Nape Strap and Original Greenbuckle hardware. Liner has paint loss, not uncommon on early liners. 1942 production components to the liner also. Overall, a very desirable Early M1 Helmet that is a must for any WWII collection. These early helmets are getting harder and harder to find in any condition. Please see photos for condition. Please see my other listings for more great militaria items. Up for sale is a genuine WWII Fixed Bale M1 helmet outfitted with a rare 1st Pattern Hawley liner. Both of which are in excellent condition. This set is not NOS or mint but in very good condition. The liner retains its fixed leather chinstrap which is often missing or broken. The helmet shell does have some surface rust in one isolated area and storage wear across the shell. I will upload more pictures tonight to show this area. I believe this to be a matched set which has been together since the war based on the patterns of wear. Inside the shell, where paint has worn off you can see the fabric patterns from the exterior of the liner which has rubbed off onto the metal (see pic with heat stamp). There is a laundry number B-1636 inside the shell. Please review all pictures carefully, zoom in and inspect the helmet. I have 100% feedback! For sale is a beautiful M-1 Helmet Hawley Liner (2nd Pattern). This helmet is a true US Navy Liner Based on where the last name MILLER is written. On the inside part of the sweatband his first name initial A and his last few numbers on his serial number are written. Miller possibly saw action during the Battle of Midway in June, 1942 or was part of the Landings at Guadalcanal. The liner is in surprisingly good shape considering that the materials used on these liners didnt hold up during the rough, hot, and humid conditions in the South Pacific. There is one semi-large crack on the front which is shown in the photos. Also there are 2 small tears on the top. I would recommend (if pairing with a shell) to use a Fixed Bale USN painted shell. The liner will fit in the shell, but please remember that the liner is very old and is not like the later War Fiber glass style liners. I personally kept the liner by itself. Thanks for checking out this great piece of history! The item “Original USN Named M-1 Hawley Liner” is in sale since Wednesday, November 01, 2017. Hi, thanks for viewing! To start, this grouping is very near and dear to me but I feel that now is the time that I must part with this. Unfortunately the health and well being of my family is more important at this time than material things and we will forever cherished the memories far beyond personal effects. This group has been in my grandparents garage since being brought back from the war by him and there it sat untouched and undisturbed until now. Due to my minimal experience with United States military I have consulted various people, posted to multiple forums and pages to better understand this grouping. Yes this is the same helmet that was posted on War Relics forum and various other posting pages. From my understanding the helmet is an Early M-1 Fixed Bale with light straps & Front Seam, with a Hawley First Pattern General Fiber Liner and original chinstrap. The Hawley liner is in fantastic condition as you can see from the photos as well as the shell. The owners name is stenciled on the outside of the helmet as well as on the outside of the liner. The chinstrap is in great condition and is original to the helmet. I know these can be difficult to find especially on original helmets so if you want more pics of it or anything else please me know! The helmet is 100% original in every way and if you have any questions, concerns or thoughts, please dont hesitate to ask! Further I will not sell this helmet/grouping so that it may be broken up or picked apart for pieces to make a quick buck. For sale to collectors Only. Helmet Heat Stamp/Batch Number: 63D. Judging by the M1 Heat stamp chart it looks like this helmet was produced in the early parts of 1941? This would also explain the various other themed items in the grouping. Those ships included USS Bushnell, Neosho, Essex, Mississippi, Sperry, and Aldebaran. Most I found on Ancestry through my minimal uncover expertise. USS District Activities, 14. Naval District Section Base, Bishops Point, Oahu T. Muster Roll of the Crew. Naval District Section Base Bishops Point Oahu, T. For the quarter ending March 31. This item and all my items come from a smoke free home free of hazardous chemicals, perfumes, and other unpleasant odors. It is my belief that the condition of an item is subjective, so I encourage you to look over each photo for your own condition assessment and when needed inquire about additional photos of information regarding any of my items. Lease feel free to contact me regarding any photo questions, concerns, or description information/errors. So please let me know how I can help! Try my best to accurately research/describe each item to the best of my ability, but occasionally mistakes are made. I know only 12 pictures can not not show everything so please let me know if you would like more!! Thanks for viewing and making it down this far!
